I finally got my WiSIP WiFi SIP Phone from pulverInnovations. It's the first WiFi SIP phone that I've seen. Someone on #joiito told me about it, but now I forget who. Anyway I got one.
Basically, the idea is that anywhere there is a WiFi, you should be able to call anyone you can access via SIP. Just like a cell phone. Except... for free.
It's a bit "prototypey" but it seems to work... Although I don't have anyone to test actual calls with. It comes with a Free World Dialup number, but I don't have any friend who use SIP. I heard that they are currently working on a deal with Vonage, which will let you receive your normal phone calls on it, but I'd rather have everyone using SIP. I got a few other friends to order them so I'll let you know how it works when I have someone to call. ;-)
Joi, you can call me at 25527 (equivalent to sip:25527@fwd.pulver.com). You can also call people on other SIP-compatible systems from FWD, such as SIPphone, IPTel and others. See the following page for details: http://www.freeworlddialup.com/content/view/full/333/
There is also a company in Washington state that will give you free of charge a PSTN number that will ring through to your FWD account (or any SIP address): http://www.ipkall.com/

Ah, Joi, you got the phone now. We should try doing a call one of these days..
ps: I asked you to buy it on #joiito one evening. Didn't realize you got it until someone points me to your review here.

Joi, we've confirmed our VoIP service (mobitus) works with the Pulver WiSIP phone, once reconfigured. You can sign up for an account and make calls for free to other users in our network, call into the phone network for nominal fees and use it at all FatPort hotspots in Canada (when you're here).

We at Wiznet are looking for a supplier for WiFi SIP phones to be used on a sip gateway. We are looking for 50 phones to conduct a test, then around 1000 after the test is complete. We are also interested in creating a joint venture for the sales and distribution of the phones. Please send us a full list of your WiFi SIP including all prices and specs.
Best Regards

Hey this site is a great resource if you are looking for VOIP related gear. They have everything, prices are very competetive, shipping is fast and their customer service is excellent.

If someone would just make a regular cell phone that can detect and roll over to Wi-Fi networks, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. What's takin' so long?

They look like one very nice phone - I'm after one myself - have yet to see in the UK though.
Corry - what you're asking for is under development right now.

You can use the WiSIP phone with Broadvoice. There URL is http://www.broadvoice.com
They have the most competitive rates out of any VOIP provider I have seen yet.

I have just bought 2 wifi SIP phones that are pretty good. They are very sleak and attractive and the features a cool too. I use it often since I can save money by calling wifi to wifi and costs me nothing. All I need is a hotspot and battaboom, I am connected. Anyone that may be interested in checking them out goto: http://www.onyx-concept.com/OCW-300.htm there are other VoIP phones and products there too.

Pretty much any VoIP allows bring-your-own device now. Both Vonage, Voicepulse etc. They will give you the SIP settings to configure, and you are ready to go. As a result you should be able to use this with just about anyone. BTW, what's peoples opinion on the best WiFi phone? There are more than a handful out there now!

I saw your site and wanted to mention a couple good sites for intellectual property research:
http://www.FreePatentsOnline.com
http://www.SumoBrain.com
These sites provide free patent searching, along with free PDF downloading (bulk downloads possible on SumoBrain), annotating and sharing documents with other users, free alerts for new documents, and more.
If you have a spot, a link to let your users know about the site would be excellent.
